Re: why is my magnaflow cat back so....
Mine did the opposite, it was louder when I first got it, it has since quieted down.
What did you switch from? It should be loud compared to stock but it's probably quiet compared to a Loudmouth or Rumbler for example.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

Re: why is my magnaflow cat back so....
well maybe this is the problem i got it put on at my buddys gas station and i bought the 3" for the v8 and i didnt get the S Pipe to make it fit rite so i left the stock s pipe and welded the rest to it can this cause problems cuz i feel like an idiot if thats it!?

Re: why is my magnaflow cat back so....
Its not gonna cause problems, but its rendering your catback pretty much useless. The stock S-pipe is smaller in diameter than 3", so you need a 3" S-pipe so your actually running 3 inches all the way back. That should also give it some more soundBlack \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth
Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.

Re: why is my magnaflow cat back so....
You can order an S pipe from SLP, or go to summit racing and buy a U-pipe, cut it in half, flip one half, and viola you have a S-pipe. It should make it louder, but if your still not impressed a cutout should do the jobBlack \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth
Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.

Re: why is my magnaflow cat back so....
haha cutout if you want it obnoxious. Do this.....when you get that s-pipe, buy a magnaflow (carsounds) high flow cat at the same time(50$), and put them both on together. Wait for it all to break in....and you will be a happy camper. I didn't put on a different s-pipe for a while after i put on my flowmaster catback and magnaflow cat. When i put the s-pipe on, i noticed no difference whatsoever. I just have the satisfaction of knowing i have a complete exhaust! :)Black 1996 3.8 Firebird T5, SLP CAI, Pacesetter Ceramic Headers,160* t-stat, PCMforLess Tune, Flowmaster American Thunder catback, Car Sounds Cat, custom s-pipe, MSD coils and wires, NGK plugs, 3.42 posi rear, B&M Ripper, 245/50 BFG-G-force's
