  • 3.4l Header troubles (oil tube) HELP!

ok so I was going to do a compression test and change the plug wires today. I startes pulling wires on the drivers side first. got to the middle wire and oh ****, when I put the headers on I couldn't get the oil tube on the outside of the header. so I just pushed it to the inside and didn't think nothing of it till now. well that was a big no no. now the tube and little bracket things thats on it is sitting directly on top of the boot of the wire and I cannot get it out much less get get a new one on. then on top of that my camera broke. took it apart and couldn't figure out what is was so I trashed it. so the best pic I can come up with is this one of the O2 sensor

is there a question being asked here or just you ranting? If there is not a point to this thread I will have to delete it.

If you can't get to the plug or something because of the header and oil tube, then you are going to have to remove the header again and fix your problem that way.

well I was wondering how other people with pacesetters and the 3.4L got around this problem. when I put the header on I found it impossible to get the tube on teh outside.

are you experiencing misfires from the cylinder that wires goes to? I dont know what you're going through, I have a 3.8 and have not had a problem with my pacesetters. Just trying to get some more details. From your pic it looks like the wire is sandwhiched in there and you'd have to take the headers off. but that's a pita esp if the wire is still delivering a spark.

alright, that's what I was wondering, thanks for clarifying.

I am however going to move this to exhaust where people will see it better and change the title to help get more people to answer your question

grabed my parents camera. here is what I am looking at. with the headers the tube cannot connect where it was orginally so that is not a solution. it cannot go there because of the piece connecting the primaries together.
