  • Wanting more decibles

Ok, so i recently replaced my cat back: went with a 3" Hooker. Now it was a bit quieter than i hoped, but i wasn't really too worried... But man, my dad could not tell the difference at all!

So... i want it to be louder. Now i know the answer is "get headers and a high flow cat", but right now i can't exactly afford that (plus i wanted to move on to the suspension). So i'm looking for a "quick" fix if you will. Basically i guess that its the design of the aero chamber that muffles the sound more than i want... so i'm thinking of replacing it with something else.

    What would you guys recommend?

(as a possible stupid question: would it be possible to replace the "aero chamber" with a bullet muffler running with only one out?)

I'd have to recommend keeping your exhaust for at least a month before you run and replace it because the sound and volume change a lot in the first month because it's going through heat cycles for the first time.

Headers will not make your car sound louder. Get a cutout on your pipe.

you can get a highflow cat for 50-100 bucks... that'd probably be your cheapest way out, but I cant say how much louder it would make it

You're wrong, it will be both louder and deeper. Won't be too much louder though. A high flow cat will make the biggest difference in volume.
