  • EGR Delete?

I know you have to either get it tuned out of the computer or get a sensor-plug type thing if you delete the EGR. Where can I get the thing to plug into the EGR sensor so I can use blockoff plates on the EGR hook-ups without setting a code?

I've searched, but not finding good results. Maybe searching the wrong key words?

you can also just unhook the egr from the manifold and then attach a filter to the tube going to the egr and just suck in clean air. That is a way to not have to get a sim or tune done

yea, you can block off the port on the header and throw a little filter on the egr tube and no codes will be set. It will just suck in air from your engine bay unless you route it to get air from you cold air intake or something

Well, I was doing it for looks more than any type of performance.. So I guess I'll just keep the EGR hooked up like normal if it would have to stay in there.. :(

              Re: EGR Delete?

It does look much cleaner with no EGR mounted to the head. I had mine off for a while and then ended up putting the base of the EGR back on to mount my FMU.

The block off plates are pretty easy to fab up for the exhaust primary and the hole in the intake.

I have an EGR Simulator in the for sale section if you need one.

Assuming you have a 3.8, the EGR assembly is mounted to the drivers side head. It has 2 tubes, one that connects to the manifold and the other to your intake for circulating air. Removal is pretty simple, you just need to cut out (or purchase) some plates to block off the ports.

Below is a photo of the EGR setup, the stock setup is on the right and the entire assembly can be removed. I ended up removing using the iron EGR base for mounting my FMU.

it wont throw a code because of it...bc i got my car scanned for codes and the egr code was the cause of the SES light, i had it replaced and its still on...so if this doesnt throw a code then hell with the egr...anything for a 3.4L v6?
