Exhaust question...?

OK, sorry to keep asking so many questions, but it didnt get answered in my other thread. Firstly I like to say this forum is sooo much better than www.camaroforums.com , its like they are dead or seomthing. But a muffler shop by me will run straight pipes from the cat, and split into duals, and put on 2 3' magniflow mufflers. all for $135. which i think is really good. my buddy got his truck done for 300, but my question is, is tht just as good as say buying a flowmaster exhaust? will it put out as much power? Im not gonna be running a muffler like i am now with my stock duals. I just wanted to kno if its worth it

idk, i looked at my friend who had his done on his truck, it was nice an curved well, and sounded loud

Hey, also. wuts the difference if i use my same cat, as opposed to buying a new one? Will u really gain any extra HP by getting a new cat?
