So did you notice any gains from this mod? Looks like an interesting idea.... I would think alot of heat would get up in there..... I feel heat rolling from the front of my car when its running. Maybe it wouldn't get upinto where the filter is getting its air supply from.

can you explain what you did? doesnt your hood hit the lid now? it looks like it'd get alot more air in there. more pics and an explanation!

Looks like he just cut the side out of the box's bottom. Leaving the Catches attached to the bottom.

on this second pic i put a heat sheald on the bottom so i wont get heat from the radiator

the reason i did this i did it for more ram air. my hood doesnt hit it directly thats why it has that little ruber peace ramp to guid the air in there like the ss have in there air lid but since my ss hood hole had the stock opening i made it bigger for more air to come and thats why i modifide the air lid for the more in coming air and yes i notice a diffrence its like haveing a slp cia intake but with a ram air

why not just do the free ram air, and blockoff the airbox inlet?
