1996 camaro

hello im new to this forum and I just bought a 1996 camaro RS w/ the Y87 package so it has 4.10 gears and posi drive. I previously drove a cavalier z24 with mods and plan to mod this camaro but i dont know what kind of mods gain the most power and what brand names to look for. Can anybody give me a heads up on what makes these cars go? and which brand names to choose? thanks.

all exhaust gives you about the same gains. but it's a smart. do your full exhaust system headers, highflow cat, and stick an intake on there too. if you want big gains, get nitrous , a super or tubro!

oh and did someone do a gear swap. cause that style comes with 3.42's

exhaust, headers, intakes, everything exhaust wise you want for you car. if you have any questions about a particular part in there search first. those are all well known parts and im sure you can come up with a bunch of threads about them that should answer your question

y87's have 3.42's, not 4.10's

thanks so far - ill prolly go SLP intake, Pacesetter headers, and Magnaflow exhaust - how does that sound? will there be any noticable gains from that?

also - my fault on the gears. Its a y87 but I just bought the car from the guy and he put 4.10 gears in aftermarket. what do those gears really do? i know there are different ratios but i dont really know what exactly the difference of the gears is.

no i dont have the intake yet - i said i'll probably buy those parts and put them in and i was asking if they are good choices and if i will notice any difference in performance.

also - how do you change your signature?

you need to be a supporting member to have a sugnature. $10 and you get to have an avatar, signature, sig pic, and PM's. i thought it was worth it plus it gives money back to the site we all love to use.

get the slp intake its def worth it. Also if u have a m-5 get a short shifter. Its like night and day. Got any pics?

thanks man. i see you have a lot of stuff done to your 96 and i was wondering what you ran in the quarter mile with all that stuff? also - which of those parts do u really recommend me getting and what kind of gains do you see with the SLP intake? thanks.

also - what do the 4.10 gear ratios do and how does it affect my speedometer? its not accurate and very off. advice? thanks.

The slp intake helps a lot and its so much better than the stock intake. Shifter is fun. Clutch made a huge diffence. But i dont know what i run cuz i havent been there since i ran 2 years ago when i was stock...and that was at 15.4
