Flow rates of diffrent cats?

Does anyone know the flow rates of the high-flo cats or even the regular stock cat? I found the random technology 9000 series is a 502 cfm. That is a 3" universal cat.

I'm looking to replace the cat and then add a catback system. I'm still undecided on 2.5 or 3" and I think I will make that decision off the best flow rate on cat depending if its a 2.5 or 3" exit.

Also does the pace setter headers y-pipe connect to the cat in the exact same place as the stock y-pipe? Headers are a good possibility later on. Thanks for any help.

that is a good question, but why worry about the flow rate of high flows ne way? if squeezing out every little bit is the goal may as well run none.

yah its in the stock location. the header collectors are 2-1/2 to the y-pipe and the y-out is 3 for a stock cat. so may want to just go 3" all the way depending, but u will have to replace the s-pipe.

The reason I want to keep it on is because I don't plan on staying in Ky and really been considering moving back to va in a year or two. They have inspections there and I just want things to be done right. I'd like to squezze everything out where I can because your exhaust is only breathing as freely as its most constrictive point. I could be wrong just how I see it. If I'm wrong please correct me as I'm not a physics wiz nor do I claim to be. Sounds like I'm being a smart A$$ and just want to clarify I'm not and being serious. All inputs would be appreciated.

Instead of spending the extra money on a random tech, which from most tests are close to the best flowing you can just get an inexpensive catco and just put a cutout before the cat.

This gives you both Emissions legal setup and when uncapped the BEST flow possible short of running open manifold.

On a Side note I wouldn't get anything other than a 3" exhaust

They do have inspections though. In louisville they use to have emissions and got rid of it but I have heard rumors of bringing it back to the whole area of louisville and surroundinding countys. I just want to have a cat so I know I'm good no matter where I end up at.

well flow rate is all relative, back pressure yata yata yata, and no it didnt sound like that. i was just under the usumption cats are really only needed for california. plus theres boost ne way for squeezing out more powa. its just kinda hard to make suggestions when u dont no the situation or what a person is looking for.

I just found a MagnaFlow / Carsound, Model: 59900, on ebay that is claiming 570cfm. Does anyone have this model? I can not find any info on any magaflow internet dealers including their site performancecurve.com
