I was wondering if the tubular manifolds are just as good as aftermarket headers or at least close?

Re: tubular vs headers
close but not as good. if you have tubulars then wait on headers. headers could be your last bolt on mod then when you can't think of anything else.
do a search and you will find all kinds of threads on this topic. ;)

Re: tubular vs headers
I had tubulars and switched to headers and still noticed a good seat of the pants difference...Especially in the higher rpms.Justin
2000 Black Firebird A4 Y87
170.2rwhp/203rwtq (SAE Corrected)

Re: tubular vs headers
minimal hp gains, but headers clean up the engine bay. Not just appearance, though they do look much better than rusted manifolds, but they make it easier to get to spark plugs as well. The main thing is a deeper tone on your exhaust. IMO they are a justified expense.

Re: tubular vs headers
Headers will give 10rwhp on a completely stock car.
This was just dynoproven...anyone who says manifolds are as good as headers has no idea what they'er talking about.
Not only are primary diameters larger but the length is MUCH longer than the tubular manifoldsShawn
2002 Silver W68 Firebird
