since it's summer and i really don't have anything to do, and i don't have to money to shell out for a new whisper lid or SLP RAI, i was thinking about making my own.
i'd like to build something close to a K&N FIPK.
basically i'm looking for the amounts of and the best materials to use. i'm thinking of using thinner aluminum pipe and rubber for the bends, and just regular clamps to keep everything tight. then i would just find the biggest possible K&N cone filter.
could i just remove the hose from the stock air box and slip the hose from the CAI on, and then put a clamp over it? or would i have to do something with the MAF or anything else?
also, if i did put one together, could i get rid of the stock air lid assembly as well?
