  • EGR Valve

Ok so i had my engine rebuit and fould out afterwards that my egr valve is throwing a code. Is there any way i could fix it or do i have to buy a new won from rockauto for 170 bucks? I saw that you can remove the egr and block off the tubes with plates. I know there is a simulator for the 3.8 to stop the car from throwing a code. Is there one for the 3.4? Or is there any other way to stop it from throwing a code?

    Re: EGR Valve

I haven't seen any specifically for the 3.4, but you might try e-mailing zzperformance, see what they can tell you. If you have a chip, you can have the chip reprogrammed to delete the DPFE and teh EVR to prevent throwing the codes.

A question I have is whether there is are any negative effects of using the EGR simulator as opposed to using a chip to prevent the codes?

According to their site it decreases gasmileage slightly and isnt street legal. I dont think it would pass emmisions with it off.

you will pass smog test inspections, as long as they dont see your missing the egr., and as long as you have no ses light. It is illegal, but who really cares. i notice no chage in gas milage.

Yes but how do you make the ses light stay off with the egr not on the car. Wouldn't it throw a code instantly then?
