i got a stock 3.8l firebird. I was just wondering what the best sounding exhaust kit is for it? i dont want like a lawnmover sound like the flowmaster 80 series, something that sounds mean. preferabley duel outs, thanks.
edit: i also dont want it like a monster sound, something like quiet idle but when i punch it, it sounds mean
take a look at my post... about 3 or 4 down.. I have had almost every exhaust made for the car, and i am finally done searching... only drawback you may have is that its a single exit exhaust, looks stock, just bigger...

I had a Magnaflow on the car before the new one... I really liked that too.. wasnt the kit, it was a universal muffler, 3" in and dual 2.5" out... i will find the link to it, cause its not the same muffler they use in the kits
that sounds good, how much did it cost? the borla muffler and summit pipes??

The "lawnmower sound" comes from having a crappy microphone too close to the exhaust outlets. Read my post "flowmaster 80 series review", it has a exhaust clip that sounds almost exactly like it does in person. I assure you the 80 series sounds nothing like a lawnmower.
ive got the flowmaster 80's and it sounds good enough for me although it does change somewhat from when i first start it in the morning vs. when engine is at normal temperatures. it sounds better when first started.
