I recently got the LT1 elbow needed for adapting a 3.4 intake system to my 97 3.8 (see my thread below) and I was wondering if the location of the filter made a different. Weither it's better having the filter where the stock airbox was, or getting an extra piece of tube and droping it down right above the splash guard on the bottom of the car.
