So I just bought my CAMARO two weeks ago and I'm in love, I Know the car had the flowmaster exhaust, but I don't know what series is there a way of telling which one it it?
I love the way it sounds but I want it to be alittle louder is there anyway of amplifying the exact sound of my car, I don't want it too change in tone, but just the loudness.
Well, the first question would be if its a dual outlet muffler or not. If you have one exhaust tip then its the flowmaster 40 series. If you have 2 (one tip on left, one on right), then its the flowmaster 80 series.
Also, is it a full catback or just the muffler? The full catback most likely would be 2.5" diameter, and have the 80 series with the dual outlet. If you have that, then theres a resonator in the piping that runs along the bottom of the car, right before the exhaust goes over the rear axle. If thats the case, and you want it to be louder, you can cut off the resonator and replace it with 2.5" straight piping that any exhaust shop can do for you or you can just go to an autoparts store and get the piping yourself. That will louden things up quite a bit.
If you have one exhaust tip then its the flowmaster 40 series.
hmmm, false, i have the 40 series and its dual outlet :)

Did you have a custom dual outlet setup out of the single outlet on the muffler? Becaust I have never seen a 40 series with 2 outlets from the muffler, only 1 outlet from the muffler

40 series isn't offered with dual outlets, but it is possible to have two exhaust tips, but it would have to split after the muffler
FALSE

I stand corrected, I searched the web and found that you can order the 40 series in a few different ways. Single offset outlet, single centered outlet, or dual outlet. Sorry about that lol.
So straight pipes would be the way to go, I Think that I have the 80 series cuz My exhaust isn't too loud, SO I think I'll go to some shops and ask them about the straight pipes,
99 rs you are correct, just checked out their website... JEGS LIED TO ME!!!
thank you............i wasnt trying to be a **** about it at all, sorry if it came out that way
