I was wondering if anyone could post pics of their exhaust for me to see. I am planning on getting a custom dual exhaust for my 94 3.4 Firebird with a flowmaster exhaust and I just wanted to get some ideas of how to run the pipes and for what kind of tips I would like to place on it. It would be very helpful if you could include pictures of the pipes and muffler underneath the car as well as from the outside. Thanx.

I HAD pics of my exhaust from underneath, but I don't know what I did with them:mad:
If I find them, I'll email them to you.

are you looking for true duals pics? of just cat backs?

some of these might be ls1's, but our exhuasts are pretty similar expect the Y pipe ( and they dont have the S pipe like we do )

I am planning on getting a high flow cat and a Flowmaster 80 series muffler with one inlet and two outlets. I don't have headers and I am planning on running this from a single pipe with dual pipes coming out of the muffler.

thats called a "single in dual out" muffler

i would suggest the flowmaster 40 series, its much more aggressive(muscle car) sounding than the 80 series. but its your call not mine. just my .02

Don't listen to the post above mine! I had a 40 series and it was way too quiet. Now i've got exactly what you want (minus the cat) and it sounds great: Very deep, burbles quite nicely, and there is no rasp (at least not on mine)... and i'm pretty picky about my exhausts: i've been through 4 in the last 4 months!

hmmm, you OBVIOUSLY didnt have the 40 series then if it wasnt loud.
i have the 40 series w/no cat and its noticably loud, a good loud i might add.

so dont listen to the clown that posted right before me

edit:check out flowmasters website for yourself, you'll notice it says the 40 series is designed for a more "muscle car" sound, also says its the loudest and most aggressive sounding of all the series.

dont worry, i wont make you appologize or eat your own words!!! lol

thank you!! finally someone else that knows what they are talking about regarding the loudness of the flowmaster 40 series compared to the 80 series.

                      Re: Exhaust pics

Well, I want it to be deeper and a little louder than stock at crusing speed, but I want it to have a roar when I lay into the throttle. This is one of the first quite sounding rides I have had. I am also into car audio and I don't want it to be so loud that when I am cruising it drowns out the radio. My first car was an 88 Beretta GT with the 2.8 and I had a cherry bomb muffler on it. That is about has loud as I want to go. I am not totally speed oriented. That is what I am looking for.

Take that back! I am not a clown!....... Do you see me with inordinately large feet? Do you see me jumping all "nimbly bimbly" from trapees to trapees? Do you see me working at childrens birthday parties?!?

Anyway, the point is that there are sound clips, and you should use them. I did. I heard the 80 series, it sounded awesome, i bought it, and i couldn't be happier. End of story.

Besides the 40 series i had was only 2 1/4" piping.. what i've got now is 3" so maybe thats why my 80 series sounds louder? I don't know, but theres no reason to call someone a clown over it. :p

damn man, i touch a nerve? my bad. it was a joke man. CHILL!! im happy you like your exhaust set up the way it is. it wasnt quite LOUD enough for me when i heard the sound clip. whats wrong with 2 1/4" piping? nothin really. i dont think you really had a flowmaster 40 in the past, rather you thought you had one but it turned out to be something else(ie: one of your previous exhasts). i wish i had a way to prove you wrong but i got a sound clip(start-up, accelerating from stop, driving/cruising) from about a month ago but its on an old camcorder lol and i dont think there is a way i can get it on here. but if your happy im happy. you dont happen to have family members in the circus do you? carnies maybe? lol jk
