I already have a flowmaster catback installed, and I am looking to install headers and a new cat and since reading some past threads, a new s-pipe too. I was wondering where I can find abbot gaskets for pacesetters, locking bolts needed for the y-pipe, the "50 dollar high flow cat" that I keep hearing about but cant seem to find (heh), and a cheap s-pipe. If anyone knows any sites where I might be able to find this stuff I would appreciate the reply. Thanks everybody.

cheaper S pipe - order a 3" U bend from jegs/summit, cut it in half, flip one side over and weld back together.
locking bolts for the Y pipe - you should have it welded, along with the rest of the system.
gaskets - http://www.abbottracingheads.com/gm3800.html
locking header bolts - http://www.ftpp.net/V6/Exhaust/V6%20...er%20Bolts.htm
ebay also has 3" inch cats for $50. anymore questions just ask.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock<br /><br />Originally posted by Rune:<br />If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.

Re: Upgrading exhaust
not a problem, id get a U bend from jegs or summit for $20 or so rather than pay $70+ for the SLP install kit. heres a GREAT write up on how to make your own, if you cant weld it yourself just take it to a muffler shop it'll take them 3 minutes. or do what the write up says, and get a pipe expander, then just clamp them together http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread.php?t=67580
good luck with the upgrades. oh yea, if you still have the stock plugs, now is a great time to change them. get the old manifolds off, take old plugs out, new plugs in. just becareful not to chip/crack the new plugs putting the headers in.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock<br /><br />Originally posted by Rune:<br />If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.

Re: Upgrading exhaust
Thanks again, I have been putting off doing headers but yesterday i almost got beat by a stock saturn sc2 manual, only pulling away after passing 60 mph. It was sad cause I thought I would beat the saturn easy with almost 75 more horsepower before mods. Heh. Anyway thanks alot.

Re: Upgrading exhaust
you'd make more power with the 3" catback, but its probally not anough to worry about. and 2.5" systems usaully sound better than 3" , the bigger the pipes the more its going to rasp ,crackle/pop ect. like when you go WOT and then let off.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock<br /><br />Originally posted by Rune:<br />If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.

I haven't posted here in a while, but I'd have to totally disagree with you on this.
I used to have on my 94 3.4L Camaro a 3" exhaust setup with a 3" high flow cat with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler, and it sounded extremely aggresive. It was VERY loud, but there was absolutely no rasp whatsoever. I also had on two 3" truck tips which made it sound extremely powerful. People would pull next to me and constantly ask me if it was a V8.
I currently have a 2.5" inch exhaust setup and is nothing compare to my old one. I will be switching back into my old 3" setup in a few months, and will post sound clips when it's finished.

Re: Upgrading exhaust
this thread is a little old, and this topic has been beaten to death. usaully 3" systems are more raspy than 2.5", mostly likely becuase they're louder ( so you hear the rasp more ) and more free flowing which causes rasp. 3.4's sound better than 3.8's, quite a bit better so im not doubting that your system sounded great on your car.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock<br /><br />Originally posted by Rune:<br />If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.
