well i got pb blaster and it didnt work. now im thinking of cutting the egr tube and just pulling it out and the putting that in the new headers and getting an intermediate tube to fill the gap. think that would work?

Just cut through the damn thing. The car will run w/o the EGR in the header. ZZsports has the EGR delete sensor for our rides.

a friend randomly brought a wrench that he could get enough torque and it started moving... finally. we got them all off. had to cut through one of the heat shield bolts bc it was so rusted wrenches would just strip it. got all the old stuff out and one of the new ones in (passenger side). but now i cant get the o2 sensor plugged back in im using new ones (bosch ones) and i cant connect it. i screwed it in the header first, but should i plug it in and then put the sensor in the header?

Re: having trouble with the header install

did ur guys' kits come with a nut for the egr bolt. it doesnt screw in to the mount on the headers like it did the old manifold. so im having a leak there, and on the driver side o2 sensor. wtf is up with that one. also did all yours have some of the exhaust come out where the ypipe go over the tube infront of the cat?

Re: having trouble with the header install

The kit says it has an EGR hookup, but leaves you to improvise on how you actually do it. I had a plate over the EGR tube, and a nut and bolt securing it, but it got soo hot that it warped the aluminum. Now I tried a steel plate a hella liberal amount of J*B weld.

I bought my O2 sensor from a GM dealer and it screwed in fine. Harness was the right length too. Can't help you there.

Y-Pipe and Cat can be solved with exhaust wrap (found @ Pep-Boys) and then clamp that sucka down. Prolly wouldn't hurt to J*B that too lightly around where the pipes meet.

uggh now the friggen steering column is hitting the header. thinkin of grinding it down a bit to clear the header so i dont have to take it all off and dent the header. any other ideas.

i feel like im running into problem after problem over here
