I am planning on installing a Flowmaster 80 series muffler and a Magnaflow High Flo Cat on my 3.4 A4 Firebird. I currently only have a drop in K&N Fitler and I do not have headers. I was wondering if after having these installed will I notice a difference in acceleration and MPG. I was also wondering if the raspy sound I here in the exhaust clips are also noticable when the car is in gear and accelerating?

Re: Will I notice a difference?
No, you probably won't feel the difference and if you think you do its most likely only because you want to. You will hear a difference and yes flowmaster mufflers rasp.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

Re: Will I notice a difference?
You probley will not see any gain, because you are bottlenecking your system. Its always better to start from the back foreward. If I were you I would get a Cat-Back system first, than the Cat, and then the headers. Because extra flow does you no good if it has to shrink back up into a smaller area.

Re: Will I notice a difference?
yes you will. not just cuz you want to you actually will. hes going to do a cat-back and a high flow cat so where is he bottle-necking it? that is the set-up i have on my car and i notice a good bit of difference. anything to open up your intake and exhaust will notice a good difference. intake, high flow cat, and cat-back look for horsepower gains around 15-20 at the wheels at the most. the cat itself will make a big difference in sound. it made the flowmasters much louder. the cat-back itself never had too much rasp but once i put the cat on it did rasp a little up top but i personally think it sounds good.'99 Camaro Y87 M5 T-tops
