I have the same problem, took a quick look under the card and couldn't see anything obvious. I'd like to know this too......my cat makes noise too on takeoff byt this sounds more like a loose muffler clamp or heat shield rattle.
could be one of the heat sheilds, theres a few under there. pull the car up on ramps and shake the exhuast a little and see if it happens.

my car did the exact same thing and when i went to get my flowmaster put on the car he found that 1 of the welds under the car had open up towards the middle of the car so it was actually the pipes slpit open and rattling all over the place so after he welded it back it never made the niose agin and my car sounds great now :)
Mine rattled for a while, but I found out what it was. I put in the 3" flowmaster catback, and the bend where the piping went up over the rear axle, until it was warm (or when it rained) it would rattle against that axle, but now it bent itself in a little bit and doesnt do it anymore :P that might be what your problem is. If nothing else, check that little heat shield that connects to your tranny mount.
ok i cant figure it out and im going crazy...when i start it up it rattles, when i let it sit at idle in neutral it rattles if i give it alot of gas, wen it shifts it rattles and last but not least...if im going about 45 and downshift to 2nd it rattles like a MO FO and sounds like a riceburner on crack untill the rpms drop significantly(although i dont normally downshift in my A4 i did it 2 see what would happen)...this noise is god awful please help i dont even know where to begin

off topic, but i never downshift my a4 to second at anything over 40, and i rarely downshift it anyways unless i just wanna make my exhaust heard lol
Its probably rattling from that support under the drive shaft. Mine did the samething till i removed it. But they say I souldnt of removed it, oh well.
