  • Ceramic Headers Worth It?

im in the market for some pacesetter headers and i noticed that there is almost a $200 dollar difference between the black and the ceramic coated.

if i dont care about looks and all i want is performance outta them, is getting the black safe or are the ceramic headers worth it?

    please help

the coated headers are definetly better , they keep alot of heat out of the engine bay cooler is better

If you're not worried about looks, just get the basic painted headers. That's what I'm running. The ceramic ones theoretically keep heat out of the engine bay, but the difference is not worth your $100 when you could spend it on a whisper lid, short shifter, gears, etc...

Do you even have headers? (EDIT: ehh wait, I managed to get to your site despite the broken link in your profile. You have RKsport headers...he's looking at pacesetters...)

Ceramic coating is mainly a gimmick. The only reason anyone should get ceramic over painted is if they care about how the engine bay will look.

ceramic will flow better and act as a better form of "insulation". but to say you feel a difference? We are talk a few horse here (2 tops), The idea is a bit better flow, and reduced engine bay temps.

dollar for dollar, they aren't worth it in my opinion, unless you have a show car.

How would they flow better? Does that mean if I put ceramic paint on my muffler it will flow better? :p

its true my friend, ceramic coating will outflow flat out steel, not by much,

its kinda like bellows in our car...why relace them with smooth bellows? flow

Ceramic coating fill in the imperfections of the steel and wil SLIGHTLY, outflow flat out steel.

I am just throwing out the facts, no need make fun.

Well what's confusing me is that...it's the outside of the pipes that's coated...not the inside.

Here you go. Car Craft You might want to listen to what "UDLOSE98" is saying. I don't think you've made a true statment yet "98 3.8", except you are confused.

The question asked was about the pacesetter ceramic coating, not their jet-hot coating.
