HELP! whining noise coming from exhaust?

Hey everyone today when i was driving if i was to give the car gas a whining noise comes from the exhaust....Does anyone know what causes this? It sounds like im missing some back pressure but im not totally sure....I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem..? Help me please!

are you 100% sure its from the exhuast? does it do in in park/neutral?

not really sure...when its driven during the day down here in texas though with it being so hott...thats when i really hear it...At night i dont hear it that much so i guess its just the heat

sounds like the problem I was having, its too hot and I was letting my gas tank go almost empty. I think it was my fuel pump whining. only thing it could have been.

best thing to do. next time it does it. pull over slap it in park/neutral and see if its still making the sound, mine would do it then it would quit. been keeping my gas tank 1/2 full and havent heard it since!

we need more info:

does it do it in park/nuetral?
does it do at at a certain speed or RPM?
does it do it all the time?
does it do it around coners? if so, left? right? both?

honestly, my first thoughts were your rear end, fuel pump or power steering pump. but it could be a list of things.

Ill have a wining noise come from my exaust after Ive drivin the car a certain period of time. I notice it at idle or when its parked. Sometimes its just where hte exhaust has gotten really hot after being driven for a while or if youve drivien the car hard. Its nothgin wrong with the mechanics of the car. You should be fine.

i know that mine has one MEAN sounding belt whine... but thats all ive ever had whine on my car

my car doesnt whine, and every other f-body ive heard doesnt. i highly doubt its "normal". belts tend to "squeel" more often then "whine". i guess that might have something to do with how you describe sounds too.

Well ill takt that back its not a "whine" that comes from the exhaust its like a hum noise when the exhasut get really hot, but its nothing wrong with the car. Ive heard many cars have this sound.
