    Re: MAF screen?

I just did the cf lid/K&N filter and screen removal on my 02' (which was a slug). Feels more responsive now. No problems >>knock on wood>>
Can't remove the screen on the 96' though. It won't idle right.

yep thats what i read, i wish i could do it on mine. im some what tempted to just to see, but i probally wont bother. i wouldnt imagine it would be a little more responsive by just looking at it.

        Re: MAF screen?

I just took it out for kicks. I used 2 eyeglass screwdrivers and squeezed the metal ring until it came out. Then I gently pulled the screen out w/ one of the screwdrivers. Now I can put it back in if need be, but I like it better out. I have a 99 Bird. As a side note, if a person wants to do some serious air/fuel tuning isn't it better to have the screen in? Doesn't it straighten out the air flow?
