  • got back from the muffler shop

I just got back from the muffler shop and I put new tips on and I had the guy try and find out whats rattling my car on the passenger side and guess what its still there. He welded me new clamps so my exhaust dosen't move that much and its stiff as hell I have come up with the assumption that its my shocks and springs because I know for a fact now its not my muffler. Does anyone else have this problem with rattling when you go over bumps even small bumps and how have yall solved it I think its my springs. I just threw away my no name cd player because it skips to much

I will say my car still sounds good but I might be adding a electric cutout on it since I plan to go with nitrous or turbo and I still have my stock piping is this a good idea to add the cutout to my flowmaster and will it **** up my sound or will it make it better

I don't think so its like on the passenger side when I go over bumps the pipe on the right side seems to be hitting something but now I know this is not the case. Like I said it may be my springs because when I got new 17 inch rims and tires the guy took off my springs and they were rusty and looked old
also when I push down on my rear it bounces more than I feel that it should

Eric: If your rear is bouncing more than you feel it should, you may have worn shocks and/or worn springs.

Fabricate another exhaust hangar. Buy a clamp and hangar from an auto store and jack the muffler up until it reaches the desired height. Install the new clamp & hangar and it's all done.

its a rumbler, there's no muffler back there. its the " over the axle" peice thats hitting. i wish you lived just a little closer.

which one? theres one in the I , theres on around the cat, and theres one by the gas tank. i wouldnt remove the gas tanks one, for obvious reasons. you can try bending it if it is the one by the gas tank.

it is the one by the gas tank but I am tempted on removing it because driving my car with that sound is bad plus when I go over bumps there is a thump sound toward the rear on the passenger side. Imagine driving a nice looking car with all that noise plus my cheap cd player just messes up so I ripped it out so thats the only noise I hear.

my exhuast hits my axle hard, i cant even drive it, and i have no radio either. i feel your pain.

try stuffing steel wool there, ive read people used that and it worked. i would highly suggest NOT ripping out that particular heat shield.

sports car's are sopossed to have squeeks and rattles and feel everybump in the road...or thats how i look at it. a little rattle wouldnt bother me.

I have been told that by many people that you are supposed to feel bumps in the road. I will be getting my cd player tommorrow and this time it will not be a cheap one and hopefully it will not skip like my most recent one I just ripped out my car.
