I have a 1999 3.8 firebird and want to replace the muffler. Im not positive whether i want to go with the flowmaster 40 series or 80 series. Also, can somone tell me if my stock exhaust is 2.25 at the muffler to 2.5 tips or 2.5 all around. any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1999 firebird flowmaster muffler?????
I can vouch for the flowmaster. I just got my 2.5 cat back installed last night and at first I left the resonator out --> raspy as all get out. I then installed the I-pipe with resonator rasp bye bye. at a stop light a ricer asked me "hey man, LS or LT?" I was like uhhh this is a v6. he goes "damn dude that sounds niice". You can get the whole catback from sdpc2000 for 262 dollars + shipping.

Re: 1999 firebird flowmaster muffler?????
sorry guys but im still pretty convinced on a flowmaster muffler, the whole reason im only putting on a muffler is because i have no money and i dont want to wait until next year to get an exhaust. i dont plan on leaving it like this forever i will get a nice catback to put on but for right now i just want a little more sound and from whati have heard personally that is the cheapest best way to go. NOW, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND ONE FOR MY CAR?????

i have it and it does take a good two or three months for the sound to get better but i love it, have stock on the rest of all my exhaust components.
