Yesterday i finally got the airlid on i had bought a v8 airlid and wasnt sure if i could get it to fit seeing as i have a 98 with the bent tb
Once i got it on i went for a drive and the throttle response is waaaay better and i swear that my exhaust has a nice deeper tone as well
i would post pictures but i cant seem to get it to work right now
i have pics but i dont know how to get them on here
i used a piece of four inch flex line from work it was used for a sandblaster and it flexes perfectly for the connection the sensor was alittle harder but i used two rubber rings from work and have one on the inside of the lid and one on th outside to hold the sensor i place
you have to host them on photobucket or somewhere and them use the image tag or just post the link. From the description, Sounds like its not going to be very cosmetically pleasing.
all the papers and stuff i got with it has ls1 instructions and it wouldnt fit the stock baffler i bought it from lmperformace and they no longer have it under the v6 listing only the v8 listing i even called g2 and asked them
what year is your bird? because i have a 2000 and i know that the 98-02 firebird changed there body style and engine that year...they went to the straight throttlebody vs the angled...if yours is angled then i think you have a 97 then...that box is for a V6 since the intake bellow part is off to the right vs the center..I know this because i bought a WS6 ram air box and it wouldnt fit right so i bought the whisper airlid for the v6 and it fit straight up! but i think they are pulling your leg in saying thats a v8 airlid..check out my cardomain site and you can see what a v6 lid looks like!

Incorrect. the intake design didnt change until 99 model. That is why I said 99-02
park yours next to your buddys and pop the hoods and really look, his should be angled down, and to the right a little. thats a v6 lid, v8's are dead center. none the less, doesnt look horrible, and you said you noticed a gain so thats all that matters.
