It will fit. The only difference is the position of the hangar on the driver's side. IF they were to charge you for that, it shouldn't be any more than $8...TOPS!
It should be included in the installation though.

I am building my own maganflow system though. I wouldn't go with the v6 model for2 reasons. 1 you loose valuable backpressure due to the 3" cat to muffler. and 2 because for your driver side exhaust pipe is like 2 times as long as the other. I am taking the muffler from the trans am kit (14267) and having a shop use my existing cat to muffler pipe (stretch the end because 3" in and 2.5" out). I am then having them put on 2 tail pipes and 3" tips. I went over this with a performance shop owner that i know really well and he said that with the little ammount of torque that we have especially you (3.4) that you need tha backpressure of the 2.25 pipe. He said that If I wanted to go stainless then go no bigger than 2.5" pipe. I went and talked to a muffler shop and with buying the muffler and tips on line it wil be only like 230-250 for the total job.

the muffler for the trans am is most likely the same muffler you would get for the v6... I wouldnt run 2.25 inch piping. Why? well search around on here and you'll see tons of arguments on whats the best but most people say unless your forced induction, go with at least 2.5". When i had my spipe remade from 2.25 to 3 inch, i noticed a difference in both sound and power. It really helped this thing breath, and as many of us know, our cars LOVE to breath. And what do you mean by the "drivers side pipe is like 2 times as long as the other"?? We dont have true duals, nor a true dual kit for the v6. They have to be custom made for us. Maybe i misunderstood what you said...

he said he had a 1996 RS. The 3.8L engine was introduced as an option in 1995, and made standard in '96. Also, like the others said, at least 2.5 inch should be what we have for our pipes.
