flowmaster muffler on stock exhaust

i was wondering if i put just the flowmaster muffler, with a stock system, would it be much louder?

It will be at first. A lot louder. But then after about a month of having it the sound gets a little quieter. Its still much louder then stock, but not too loud.

That is the flowmaster 80 series. New pipes from the muffler back. Other then that the car is stock.

Also keep in mind it sounds 1000x better outside then it does inside.

i like mine. it took 5,000-10,000 miles for it to sound better though but i think thats normal on any new exhaust. sound not bad from the inside imo

it will sound loud at first like raw said but it will tone down after a month or 2, just be a like rasp up top

i dont think the sound get quieter...i think you just get used to the sound.

i honestly dont understand how your car would get quieter over time? that just doenst make any sense

my dual exhaust sounds kinda weird from the inside to me the drivers side i can hear the sound and on the passenger side the pipe makes a weird noise like a air noise...but yeah i think u get used to the sound cuz mine isnt that loud either...it is though when u get on it :)

i got a borla pro xs muffler installed on stock piping, and i don't think it's any louder than my stock Y87 muffler at all, i will say it looks a lot nicer, and sounds better, but not louder.

Ding Ding ! Give this man a prize ! It is nothing but hard cold steel. There is nothing in a flowmaster muffler that changes over time. It doesnt have fiberglass in it, it doesnt have baffles in it, it doesnt have small ports that exhaust passes through in it. Its just a cold steel container with a few angled hunks of steel in it to tune the sound. If it sounds diffrent in time then its either something else or in your head.

to answer your question, yes. i have jus the flowmaster muffler only and it is much louder, but then agian i also have !cat
