homemade cat-back

alright im tired of my camaro having that tincan sound so im thinking of doing something with the exhaust but do not want to spend a lot since i already have to buy a full exhaust for my other car. i was thinking of cutting the stock muffler off where the tube turns into it then in the I pipe right before the axle cut out a section and put in a 2.5in dynomax race bullet then i have a friend who works at an exhaust shop that could put a y on the pice that goes over the axle and then weld on some new tips. i also have a alomost brand new cat-co converter i got off my trans am when i pulled the old exhaust off and its a 2.5in and im gona take out my stock converter and put that in its place. not quite sure how it will sound but i know it will be a good bit louder but i was wondering it anyone has tryed this or any better ideas for under $100

You'll probably have a bit more room if you install a Cherry Bomb Muffler in place of the standard muffler. I was actually going to do this once, but never got around to it.

yea i dont realy care for the sound of a glasspack and they do not flow very well so that rules that out

i figured the bullet style race muffler and a better cat would flow just fine for all im doing right now and it would be fairly cheap for me to do. i just wanted some feedback before i spend any money to how it may sound or if anyone ese has a similar setup i could hear

? anyone? well i think im gona go ahead and cut off my stock muffler this weekend so it will be ready for when i do something else. im think im gona cut it right where the inlet pipe goes into the muffler so that way i know there will be enough pipe left for the exhaust shop to work with when i get then to run my tips. now i just have to wait on my mufflers (ordering 3. one for camaro 2 for t/a) i dont know how much more pull im gona feel outa this but i figured i may feel a lil more in the higher rpms so i guess ill hitting my speed limiter a lil faster!:bs:
