Modification..HELP.

What would be the first mod that you guys have done that improves the car the most?!?!? I have a 94 3.4-A4 and want more power out of it....

Don't worry about brand. Go down to Home Depot and get all the parts to put together a new intake, $25 tops. Makes the car sound better at WOT and it will give you 4-5 ponies. I had my car less than a day when I did that. I put the thread below. Beyond that work on the rest of your intake path and the exhaust system.

the only thing you can do is read... a lot. read on all of the boards possible, and see what works for people and what doesnt. if you come on here expecting someone to tell you exactly what to buy, youre just going to be confused, because everyone has something different. it also changes with what your plans for the car are.

i personally bought a 3" exhaust because in the ideal situation, im hoping to have my car heavily modded within a year or two, so with the power i hope to be making, a large exhaust is good. if you dont expect to hit large HP numbers, stick to a slightly smaller exhaust. etc.
If you plan to go FI (turbo), hold off on getting headers.
If you have girls that constantly b!tch about your car being too loud, take that into consideration.

In the end, its up to you. you have to experiment, and follow your own path. There really is no right or wrong, it all comes down to what you want. Look on peoples cardomains, listen to exhaust clips, read random threads, and then go shopping!

typically doing mods the list goes, tune up, intake, exhaust(at least a cat back after that its high flow cat and headers.) gears, tune (if its a 3.8, 3.4s dont have much in the way of tuning.) first things first is to get the car running good by giving it a good tune up(plugs and wires) change the fluids then start modding.
