  • ZZP egr blockoff.

Ok the intake side is no problem, I will screw in the blockoff plate, mabye seal it with some jbweld after.

But the exhaust side... the bolt is like stuck on the header, i need some advice on getting it off before I strip the damn thing. I've tried spraying wd40.. didnt work, and it's pretty hard to get to on my car. Also once "if I ever" get the plate installed on the exhaust side, will it seal ok? or will i need to weld it? will jbweld hold on the header or should I just do it correctly?

That bolt is a pain in the ***, I had to put it on the ground with the socket wrench in and stomp on the thing until it broke lose. It is quite the ****ty task. otherwise maybe try cutting it?

its to small to tap, you are gonna have to drill it out, somehow.

Keep in mind that the EGR system does not affect operation at high part-throttle or wide-open throttle.

Also, if you choose to block-off the EGR, you may find the engine will often be in detonation at part throttle because an engine being fed recirculated exhaust gas needs a more spark advance than one without EGR. Over a long period of time, detonation at part throttle can damage engine parts.

So, if you block-off EGR, you need to reprogram the spark tables at part throttle and in closed loop such that the spark is not as aggressive as it is with EGR.

why does an engine with EGR need more advance?

The mix of air, fuel and exhaust needs more spark advance for proper combustion.

You dont have to reprogram nonthing, my car runs awsome with no egr. I buy the cheapest gas i can, sometimes E85, i have never had a case of the knocks. Our computers are smart enough to figure it out for them selfs.
