I wasn't sure if this should be in intake, or general tech. Anyways, my MAF sensor is bad in my 97 3.8. Would one from a LS1 or LT1 fit? I found some high-flow ones for the LS1, but wasn't sure if it would fit on my car. I'm buying one TONIGHT, so the sooner the better for this info. Sorry if it's demanding, but I want the best for my car, and if for another $10 I can get a high-flow MAF instead of a stock, why not?

no those won't work without a lot of modification and tuning. Stick with the stocker

OK thanks. How hard is it to port one? I'm ordering mine tonight, and when it comes in I figured I might go ahead and port it if it's fairly easy

        Re: Maf

port the maf? don't even try, not the same as those lt1/ls1 mafs by any means. You will screw up your airflow and tune.

OK.....guess I'm staying stock then. I need to replace mine, so when I get the new one I figured I'd go ahead and do whatever I can to it, then install it when my intake comes. But, if it's nothing like the LT1's MAF, then nevermind.

nope, our tb's are big enough already and the maf can't be ported like the lt1s either.

              Re: Maf

i ported my maf and TB
it threw off the calibration of the maf causeing it to run VERY lean
I ended up killing my piston rings and had to rebuild the engine
8 months later and I still havent gotten the maf recalibrated (even though I have invested at least $1k on tuneing software/hardware)
