  • Do you need cut out piping?

I'm looking at some electric cutout to place in the I pipe of my flowmaster exhaust. As i was looking around i noticed that alot of people who had cut outs installed also had piping leading from the cut out to the side of the car. Is this what most people do or is it just making it look cooler? I understand that the exhaust is very hot so it probably SHOULD be routed out the side of the car, but its not hot enough to melt metal so not having pipes routing the cut out exhaust should be ok, right? What did those of you with cut outs do?

    Thanks for any replies

a turn down can work pretty good. down and out at a slight angle should be fine. nothing too low, though. it will just get banged up.
the turn down doesn't have to have a 'bend' in it. a 45* bias cut on the pipe (tip) with the exit pointing where you want it to will work.
