i have a 2000 firebird with a CAI and whisper lid. I am getting a high flow cat. but i like the way my stock exhaust sounds. So if i would do a head and cam upgrade would that need a new exhaust or would a stock exhaust and a high flow cat be effecient enough.

P.S. I don't have enough money for a full exhaust and heads and a cam. so i have to pick one or the other. Thanks in advanced guys

    Re: stock exhaust

you dont HAVE to do anything to the exhuast to get heads and a cam, but i full exhuast would be VERY noticable on a cammed car. ever think about a cut-out? still stock when closed but then open it'll flow much better. and they're cheaper than high-flow cats too.

you do know that heads/cam will end up being significantly more expensive than a full exhaust... right?
