OK, I've seen how whenever anyone gets a new intake, or makes one themselves (as I plan to do), he or she changes out the entire assembly from the throttle body to the filter. I took out the assembly yesterday and I noticed that the filter box can be taken off leaving just the plastic tube going to the TB. Now is it ok just to buy a filter and put it on there, or is there a better reason for replacing or fabricating the entire assembly? Thanks.
