  • restrictive elbow?

I did a search but cant seem to find anything so i'm new threadin for the first time...

is the stock 3.4 intake elbow restrictive? I was looking at cheap CAI's on ebay and was going to the get the stage 2 with k&n but then found a stage 3 that goes all the way to the TB.. i dont think its worth the extra 30 but if the rubber pipe is restrictive, it will be.

the rubber doesnt look too restrictive from the outside... any opinions?

its fine. honestly, save yourself the money go to homedepot get some pvc piping or dryer vent tubing and make your own for about 60 bucks maybe less depending on which kind of cone filter you use.

i wouldnt reccomend dry vent tubing.

aside from looking horrendously cheap, its anything but smooth inside. smoother = better flow. the rubber elbow is completely smoothe inside.

the intakes just dont seem worth it. they still go to the same practically sealed off place the stock airbox goes to.

cheap and ugly? yes! better than the stock airbox? yes. i made my own cai and it worked just as good as my buddies K&N FIPK.
