  • Quick question about 3.4 Throttle Body.

I tried to do a search on thsi and it returned over 200 results. I don't have time to search through all of the result so I figured I would just ask. I have read several times that the Throttle Bodies on the 3.4L v6 were designed too small. I was reading on another web page that you could take the throttle body off of a v8 trans am/ camarl and put it on the 3.4 v6 motors. Is this true? If so will it really help performance and how hard would it be to do?

its not that easy. its a custom job, you'll have to have the TB welded to the intake plenum. IMO not worth the time unless youre going FI with it.

i think ben (white95) has some pics of it on here somewhere or they might be on his cardomain.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

The front of the upper intake manifold is cut off and a new housing for the TBI/LT1 throttle body is fabricated.

That is Josh's car from ftpp.net

There are some minor modifications you can make to the stock TB to increase airflow. Unless you've done some head work and added a cam you shouldn't need much more than that.

you could always go to the junkyard and pick up the throttle plate/blade out of a ho quad4 tb (its 56mm vs the 3.4 52mm) and have a machine shop bore your 3.4 tb out to fit it
