  • blowin' flames?

ok so reciently i had my exhaust done the way i wanted it. ive got a cat-to cat, and a 2 1/2 inch pipes running into a Y pipe that splits it into the tips. its loud, really loud. im wondering about these flame thrower kits that i see. in order for this to work, i know they use spark plugs in the tips, but would this work with my cat in the system, or would the cat have to be removed for this to work?

My cousin bought them for his car. The directions said that you need to gut the cat. However when he asked the salesman abiut just using a high flow cat the salesman said they would still work, ut the flames would be smaller.

so it would prob work then? is there a way to do it without buying the kit? like just having someone wire a 12V switch into the car?

Some custom kits have been hooked up similar to a NOS kit. But, instead of injecting Nos into the intake, it injects fuel into the tailpipes. This way, you don't have to worry about removing your cat, and it doesn't interupt the engine (which I've been told is bad for it. the unburnt fuel somehow mixes with the oil, and then breaks it down faster. you could do it, but you'll have to change your oil more) They usually recommend only a .10mm jet, but as I like to say, bigger is better :D. just don't go too big. I'm looking at making a custome one. I wonder how much flammable fumes are coming ouot of my exhaust right now, may just hook up and sparkplug and see if I get anything.

Well there's one way to find out. Stand behind it when it's running get down next to the exhaust with a lighter and find out. What could possibly go wrong?
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

Nothing happened.......The exhaust actually blew out the flame, so I'm guessing I don't have much unburnt fuel, if any. Plus, it's kinda windy outside......

If your car is shooting flames out of it being relatively stock, then your car has issues.

you will likely have to run the car rich to get flames.... or the nitrous system setup.

LOL, you aren't going to be shooting flames unless you are running really really rich to the point where car runs like ****.
Or get a turbo+run rich and shoot flames and be fast at the same time.
