So my whisper lid arrived from Thunder Racing yesterday...I couldn't wait to put it on the car. Most of the install was easy (i'd already done it once before on my old car a couple years ago), but the grommet Whisper supplies for the IAT sensor is by far the biggest POS ever. It's way too small for the sensor. I struggled to get it on, but eventually it fit. Then I had to put it in the lid, which led to more trouble. The hole for the sensor is too small when the grommet is installed. I had to carve the hole a little larger, and also cut some material off of the grommet to make it fit. I don't understand why Whisper can't supply the correct-size grommet.
Anyway, as soon as I was finished, I took a little test drive. The car pulls harder now, nothing spectacular, but it's noticeable. It's also sounds louder and deeper from taking the air silencer off. Fit and finish is great (I got the carbon fiber version, because the regular version looks cheap to me). Now all I need to get is a K&N filter and the SSRA to finish it off.
