I asked this question on a few threads and no one gave a straight answer. Did a search and can't find anything relevant. My AIR pump doesn't work... the fuse is blown and if i replace it, it blows again. I don't have emissions so I dont care if it works but in my 3rd gen, it used a pump, right off the engine. What this does, is suck air off your intake tube, and push it into your exhaust through exhaust manifolds. Consequently, it fights your intake for air. Also, it pushes more gases through your exhaust. So... by pulling this off, we'd free up intake flow, exhaust flow and if it still is belt driven off the motor, we'd take off more power spinning it by the engine.
Get to the point! So what I want to do, is pull off the pump, metal tubes to the exhaust, and cap off where it connects to the intake. Anyone done this? Will this throw a code? Would it affect driveability in a negative way? I figure if it was going to throw a code it would already be doing it with the fuse blown, but I'm just a "newB."
