EGR sim still throws a ses light

so i got rid of the egr, blocked the holes and last night wired up the sim. i reset the ses light by pulling the fuses. start the car and like after 5 min the ses light is back on. did i get a faulty sim ??

could of but I dont know if disconnecting the power will clear the codes on your car. that a real old school trick

Take it to NAPA or autozone, they will clear it for you.

yeah i disconnected my battery after my o2 sensor in front of the cat went bad and i was having a misfire in #4... so after i disconnected everything the SES light was gone... but 4 days later the SES light just popped on and i brought it to Advanced Auto and they came out checked the codes. it was showing the codes that it had stored like 4 days ago. but maybe you didnt have it disconnected long enough. :spank:

i did the fuse thing to pullin the pcm bat and pcm ign. today on my way home the ses light went off. we'll see how it works

just have the ses code for the egr deleted in the pcm?

if you don't do that, you'll have the ses code no matter what you do because the pcm is searching for the egr input which is not there.

i put in the zzp egr simulator. took the car out again tonight ses light is back.

Thats ok i bought a new EGR and put it in and my SES is still coming on

any ideas ? do i need to get a code reader to clear it out ? i thought by pullin the pcm bat and pcm ign trick would of worked

the code was a p1406. the guy erased it. i'll see if it pops back on

code is still there its p1406. i dont see why the egr sim isnt working

You are going to need a diagnostic scanner to delete the EGR out of the PCM for good, or else the code will keep coming back.

It's still in the brain that you have an EGR, and since it isn't there, it's throwing a faulty code. Upload the PCM with no EGR and it should stop throwing the code for good. If it doesn't, then you have a faulty sim

anyone else have a problem with the sim ? i contacted zzp and all they told was to contact easyperformance. havent heard back from them.
