I heard cutouts produce the results i'm thinking of.. but then again it probably sounds like open headers or something. Maybe different placement of the cutout would be a little better? IE not before the cat.. maybe a little after or something?
For $450 id say cam it, and get a cheaper exhaust. IMO

the only way to get it to sound close to a v8 is by doing FULL exhaust. headers, y-pipe, cat, catback.
tsp rumbler is the cheapest catback, at 200 without any tips. its a 3" system though, so sounds like **** on a stock car. i love the sound of mine, with full exhaust done.
also take into account that install should be around $100 if you dont do it yourself.
