another home made ram air idea

i have a 96 firebird i plan on getting a CIA soon and i was wondering if i could pull the headlight surroundings off and the rubber peice behind it off to make a direct location for air into the CIA?? is this a good way or no? i was wondering cuz the intake is right behind the headlight assembly and when the light is raised is looks like it mite work:burn:

CAI- Cold Air Intake

Just get a regular slp or k&n intake, some people make little scoops to gather a bit more air from under the car, not the headlights though.

It would work. But, it wouldn't be too far from the engien, so it would soak up alot of hot air as well. I'd just get a regular CAI, like the SLP, and then put in the block off plate to keep out of the engine bay. Then, if you want, you can do the "ram air" effect thingy some people do. They make an aluminum scoop like and put it on the bototm of the car. Then, the faster you go, it shoves more air up into the compartment (not the actual intake though) that the intake's in.
