  • How will a resonator in the tip change the sound?

I'm thinking of getting some new exhaust tips, and see many have resonators. How will that affect the sound?

    Thanks,
    Frank

Exhaust tips have resonators? I don't believe I have ever seen one, but I haven't been looking for one either as I don't need exhaust tips :)

But, if you do get one, take the resonator out so you have maximum flow and it will be a little deeper than normal without the resonator.

I'd like to see one too. My exhaust has a rasp that I would love to eliminate! I just don't want to cut & weld a resonator into the brand new 3" catback that was recently installed.

Or is it the problem I would have, being lazy?

I hear the borla tips make a noticeable difference in sound.

Not chicken or lazy. I installed & welded the whole system myself, and I really don't want to f-with it. If I can find a resonator that fits into the tips, I'll try 'em out. If not, I'll just ignore the rasp...as I've been doing for over a year now.

I may be selling it soon and I really don't want to futz with it any more than I have to.
