  • Manifold to Y pipe lose

So the y pipe manifold junction is lose on my car. Its loud as hell and rattles a bit. I have the tools to get in there, but should I tighten this up when the engine is hot? I already tried with it cold but could not get much. Not even 1 full turn.

If nothing works, just cut it in half, remove it, then replace it. A hacksaw, dremel or sawzall will work nicely. You can buy the nut & bolt at almost any auto store for a relatively cheap price.

is the donut blown out? There is a donut gasket in between that might be blown out and causing the noise and rattles

I'vs always had problems with that slide connector on my stock setup. I welded it and the rattle stopped, but it's still a sh*tty connection.

No more worries though since I totally eliminated that connecton with a 3" catback:)
