    Which CAI will be the best bang for the buck? (97 Camaro 3.8V6)

    the cheapest one you can find cause cai doesnt really offer much hp

      man I should smack ya upside the head for that. :slap: on the angled tb's that didn't get the lid like the 98 guys, CAI offer some quick ponies that were getting restricted by the mess of an intake system on the 95-97 3.8l cars. There are so many bends and chambers involved in it.

      The best is the SLP CAI, next would be K&N or Moroso.

      I made my own with some 3" piping and a rubber 90* bend from intakehoses.com for like $45 total when I was all done.

        i have a 98 with an angled tb, i also had the SLP cai, K&N, and whisper lid.....didnt do much for me?

          so i could just do my own? Was kinda thinking about that but was sketchy on the "DIY" part.....if you could give me a good guide that'd help thnxs for the info btw!

            cuz you have the lid. us 95-97 guys do not have a lid so your setup was totally different. We cannot do the slp cai, whisper lid and such. Our SLP CAI is two pipes that go to the fenderwell. Way better than our restrictive air silencers and box contraption behind the headlight

              I think what he was trying to say is that by just doing an intake on your car, you aren't gonna net significant gains.

                exactly, by all means get CAI, but spend the big money elsewhere
