Sorry this does not belong here I already posted this in the wanted section, I just thought more peole would see this. Most people dont plan on selling their stock exhuast to any one after they upgrade. I need this for the true dual set up I'll be making soon and the Company I was going to get this from doesnt carry it no more or they have discontinued making it. Sorry again for this being here.I have a 2000 camaro I dont know if they all bend and flow the same way as mine so... I really need it to be in good/great condition.

Re: Stock I and over axle pipe wanted
But I'm not runing 2.5 the stock exhaust is 2.25in plus I'll have Cats on there aswell. The mufflers I'll be using are sweetthunders in the rear and the only place the pipes are going to be mandrel-bent are in the I and over axle pipes so i'll have a good amout of back pressure. There is another thread in here showing flow number of a 3inch to a 2.25 true dual and the numbers arent the much different at all.

say bye bye to all backpressure and low end power
another example: ls1's, LOTS of them have 3" true duals dumped before the rear axle, but yet the single 4" mufflex systems flow around the same number. if you were to put a single 6" system, again, you'd have a horrible sound and no low end power.
the system he plans on running will be fine, it'll sound good ( i dont see how it couldnt ) and he'll have a fine amount of back pressure. he's running two 2.25" piping, IMO thats the perfect size. cats will help back pressure ALOT. and the muffler's he plans on useing, even though their a straight through desgin, will help back pressure too. he'll be fine. theres a few people around the boards that have 2.5" true duals, but they've all said its a little much. so 2.25" ture duals, with cats and mufflers should be PERFECT.
good luck with your project gotmilk.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock

Originally posted by Rune:
If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.

Thanks loser I have already ordered my cats. and talked with mike about the mufflers and i'm going to order those on the 8th all I needed was the damn I and over axle all other piping me and my friend are doing the bends. The site I was going to order I and over axle pipe from doesnt have it anymore so if anyone is upgrading for christmas or just has there stock piping laying around I'll be happy to take it off your hands.

Here look at this site that magnaflow has it will direct you in the way you want and kind of already are going in. (http://magnaflow.com/07techtips/faq/question10.asp) The perfessionals have set up a chart that is probably what you could be looking for.

Re: Stock I and over axle pipe wanted
Yes I have already look at this chart and my true dual system is the right size. The real main reason for this thread tho was to get the attention of the people that are getting rid of there stock exhaust for a bigger one or just have it layin around somewhere so i might acquire it from them. I was explaining myself in why I wanted the stock exhaust because it isnt normal for someone to ask for it besides demodding.

Re: Stock I and over axle pipe wanted
Try shopping around some muffler shops, sometimes those guys will keep left over piping from other peoples cars, you might be able to find it that way. One shop i saw round here must have had some 200+ OEM catbacks lying around

Re: Stock I and over axle pipe wanted
i rear somewhere earlier (months ago) that even 2 2.25 pipes is like having 1 4.5 inch pipe which although it may sound better is the equivalent when it comes to bacpressure. how is the duals different

Re: Stock I and over axle pipe wanted
Do all year 4th Gen v6 I and over axle pipes follow the same bends and such? I know that GM came out with the Different exhaust manifolds in 2000 which changed the Y pipe so I didnt know if it changed the I and over axle too. I'm going to call a the junk yards around here and see if they cant get one for me but I got to know what years I can pull it from.

Re: Stock I and over axle pipe wanted
**Niko97RS I found the thread it was on FullthrottleV6**
http://www.fullthrottlev6.com/forums...ght=true+duals
Area of a 3 in. pipe: 7.06sq in total single
Area of a 2 in. pipe: 3.14sq in or 6.28sq in total dual
Area of a 2.25in pipe: 3.97sq in. or 7.94sq in total dual
Area of a 2.5in pipe: 4.9sq in or 9.8sq in total dual
Of course this is not the flow of the pipe, but it gives you an idea. If you want it free willy go with the 2.5. 2.25 will not be a LOT more flow, but it will flow more than your single 3 inch.

i THINK 3.4's hanger's are a tad different, but im not sure. to be safe just go with 96-02. the cat back didnt change at all in those years im 100% certain.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock

Originally posted by Rune:
If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.
