That Magnaflow system is completely built right? It would be a cinch to install yourself and would take less than 30 minutes right? Or am I smoking crack again?
Less than 30 minutes?...NO. You still have to remove your old system, and that's never easy when you're doing it yourself.
First, you should hang the muffler
Then install the pipes and adjust them so they fit under the car without bumping into or striking anything when you hit bumps.
Then, the clamps must be put on snug (not tight) so you can finalize the routing of the pipes, then tighten.
It may look easy, but problems are always easy to come by. I did my exhaust and it took two days, but thats because I took my time and I was also working, so I couldn't dedicate both days to the car. And the pipes WILL require adjusting. They don't just fit in one direction and bolt up. You'll see...
I'd also recommend that you weld the connections. Bolting them will almost definately leak.
I recently put a magnaflow on also and it is about a 1.5-2 hr process if you work all the way through. Plus I utilized my buddy who is a mechanic and of course has a lift at his shop. So if you are on the ground it will probably take longer because you can't get the over the axle pipe off easily without cutting it a lot. but other than that it shouldn't be to bad.
yah i have my full magnaflow exhaust hooked up to my turbo downpipe with just the clamps and theres not a leak anywhere.

I've got that system on my car. Mine's welded together I believe, but you'll like the sound of it. I really have only heard mine from inside the car, until the other day. I let my friend move it, and as soon as he cranked it up, I melted. I Love the way it sounds. Mine gets kinda raspy up in the RPMs, but only cuz I have a gutted cat instead of a hi-flow, and still it's not that bad. I'm looking at getting a cutout too. Put it right before the over-axle pipe is what I was told. That's where it'll sound the best, give you the best gains, and still be fairly easy to undo if you don't have an electric one.
I just got my Magnaflow catback, and cut out today; I have a 99 3.8. Since my S pipe is welded on I plan to start the instal at the Mid pipe, but I am not sure if that is bolted to the S pipe or welded. It is a little to dark to see. Will I need to cut the old mid pipe off and bold the new one one, or is there a spot to just bolt it up?
Also is the best place for the cut out just before the over axle?

All of your stock exhaust is welded. If you want to install a new catback, you're going to have to cut the old catback off. Most people have the cutout on the y-pipe or under the passenger seat on the I-pipe
My cut out dumps at the bend right before the muffler. Easy access and no risk of fumes at all.
It took me the better part of the day to install my Magnaflow catback... but I don't have a lift and only two 13" jacks... yeah... I'm crazy... car sounds good though... ;)

You are in the same boat with me as far as getting your car off the ground for a whole 13 inches of clearance. I believe you and I, and anyone else that only has jackstands to do work underneath their car all deserve a medal.
yeah... that would be great... a medal that says "i wish my jack was larger"...
or magic little leprechauns that do all the work for me... and they don't complain cause...i mean come on... they're leprechauns... they're not even second class citizens... ah the joys of slavery... :spank:
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
