Re: Borla vs. Flowmaster

Wouldn't the air turbulance inside the muffler be different if it was installed backwards? I know that inside the 80-series they use a series of baffles, and I'd think the airflow would be restricted more running it backwards.
\'97 Camaro M5 Y87 3.23 LSD, homebrew CAI, highfloCat, Flowmaster catback, Pacesetter headers, specstage3 clutch and aluminum flywheel, !egr, 2kW system.

Possible L67 bottom end w/ abbott heads and a turbo in the works... gotta do more homework

that's correct...in the 80 series, there are directional baffles.

Borla > Magnaflow > Flowmaster

I use magnaflow on mine, love it :) Unfortunately Borla didn't make any exhausts for 97 V6, atleast not that I could find. Still better then Flowmaster though IMHO :)

well if they make a catback for a 98-02 it should fit, only cars that are diff from 96+ are lt1s with their dual cats, unless im missing something? I'm pretty sure 97 is the same as 98 99 etc in terms of exhaust. Exhaust manifolds are different in later years and they introduced that drive by wire system with the straight throttle body but exhaust should be identical. I pieced my exhaust systems all together, on my '98 neon and on my camaro. NEver would I have been caught with a tin can muffler even on my neon though, I had a 40-series :burn:

lol jk, but seriously there are always the haters and lovers of flowmaster... personally i love mine, and wont change it until it needs to be replaced. I love the sound, as well as the compliments. However i will admit that i will most likely try a borla when my flowmaster needs replaced. As of right now i have 3" catco hiflow cat, 3" piping to a 80 series muffler, and no resonator.

Re: Borla vs. Flowmaster

It all depends on your setup too, headers will give you a different sound as will different cats or even no cat. Mine was a bit raspy, but such is the nature of our engines I guess.

Comon guys you cant really tell me that you think a Borla cat back is better than the complete exhaust system i named out for the same price. Please dont tell me you really believe that.

Agreed, I like the look of the two tailpipes better, but not quite as much as a single 3" tailpipe cocked down like a stock tailpipe ;) sleeper status

Me either. Isn't the real-estate saying supposed to be something that is impossible. Like, I have a house for sale in Mississippi that sits next to a mountain.

There is tons of swamp land in Florida.
What he means is that yeah theres tons of swamp land available, but not desirable.

airgo, borla is available, he just doesn't want it

I agree. I've had ppl surprised when they find out it's a v6 b/c "It sounded just like a V8."
I mean, they may of been extreamily loaded out at the moment, but that's beside the point.

the joke is that you have some land in florida... you arent supposed to tell them its a swamp until AFTER they buy it.
