Re: My MAF Screen removal adventure

i just took my screen out and my car died. (five minutes ago)

      99 straight tb & k&n FIPK...

so i took the screen out, and she started up fine, sounded a little different but no problems... backed out of the garage and took off... everything seemed normal, until my engine cuts out. so i stopped put her in park and started back up.. thought i would try driving it a little and see if it kept happening. well it happened 4 more times and i only drove about 10 miles or less.

it seemed to cut out at inconsistent times, no specific speed, and it wasn't at idle or anything.. but i don't think i was ever on the gas hard when it cut out.

so anyone know whats going on? i mean i didn't expect anything great from doing it, but i also never expected my car to start dying? never read that anywhere.

Leave it in. If you want to mod your car do it safely and with a real mod. Only reason you would want to take it out would maybe be if you were spraying a liquid through it.

You have backup now. Its a pointless mod with pointless "gains".
