  • Anyone Running Hooker Mufflers?

Just wondering, because Hooker as I've seen it, flows the best, so I was wondering how hooker exhaust, mainly mufflers, sound on a v6 f-body.

I have made some search about the hooker aerochambers because I been looking for something not noisy. I would say that aerochambers are the quietest and similar in airflow than flowmasters (average quality)

        Re: Anyone Running Hooker Mufflers?

I have the Hooker LT1 kit on my car, I like it for the most part. It seemed to give me a little bump in performance.

An added bonus of the LT1 kit is that it incluces a mandrel bent S-pipe coming out of the cat. There is a flange on the end you need to cut off. after that it welds right up. As far as the muffler itself that is a seriously heavy piece.

If you go that route a couple of peices of advice.
1-don't cut off the V8 mounting points. Invest in some stock v8 hangers which will bolt in place of your v6 ones. Look under a v8 and you'll see what I am talking about. The passenger side hanger is designed to keep the exhaust from swaying side to side. I cut mine off before I realized this and regretted it. Also hanging the muffler is alot easier with a second set of hands.

Finally it comes with a set of dual tips (or is that quads?) each tip has 2 outlets. You are going to want to trim the tail piples to length because they stick way out if you add the tips and look kinda goofy.
